Artist Statement Through his paintings, the artist conveys the struggle of (Post) "Modern" man to reach beyond the trappings of this limiting identity through the emergence of new myths and metaphors. As such, ancient and contemporary themes intermingle in a tension whose energy becomes an attempt to transcend the tightening constrictions of our materialistic experience toward a more healthy and harmonious spirituality. The style is primitive in it's intent to call us back to our more fundamental and essential nature, while simultaneously projecting us forward to a unique future awaiting us on a path different from that which we now pursue, and only alluded to and foreshadowed in the artist vision.
